An electric Halo Heat Slo Cook and Smoker Oven covers a great deal of kitchen territory. Made of stainless steel, its two compartments each have 2 side racks and 2 shelves with 8 pan positions for holding 3 full size pans or 7 sheet pans. The weight capacity is 120 lbs. per compartment. Magnetic door latches keep the compartments securely closed. A rib rack is supplied with each compartment for slow cooking tender, fall-off-the-bone ribs. A drip pan with a drain is also provided for each compartment. A wood chip container is added for smoking with real wood chips and 1 sample bag each of Cherry, Hickory, Apple and Maple wood chips are supplied with the unit. It cooks, smokes and holds meats, poultry and fish, and also cold smokes fish and cheese. Here we have a piece of equipment that’s deceptively simple for accomplishing so much. The compartments are independently controlled with simple dials, which set the cooking temperature, the cooking time, the holding temperature, and the smoking time. The temperature range for cooking is 200-325F, while the holding temperature is 60-205F. The smoking timer has a 60 minute range, and you have a choice of mild, medium and heavy smoke. Slow cooking induces a natural enzyme in meats which makes it tender. It’s also energy efficient and reduces labor. Halo Heat is stationary so flavors don’t blend.
